Our History
Our History
One beautiful day on a Texas highway, the lives of the Mosher family changed forever. A head-on collision took Paul's life and left his wife, Abby, and son, Dustin, hospitalized. Despite their fortunate access to mental health services, Abby was saddened by the realization that countless children lacked this vital support. In 2005, the first Tomorrow’s Rainbow was born.
As the program grew, it became evident that the need far surpassed their initial scope. Abby's serendipitous encounter with Beth Jackson, a lifelong resident of Greenville County, ignited an instant connection and synergy, culminating in the birth of Tomorrow's Rainbow Upstate. With over 37,000 grieving children in need, it emerged as the answer to transforming lives and renewing hope.

Beth Jackson
Executive Director, South Carolina
Beth Jackson’s journey has been shaped by the values instilled in her by her late father, Nat Cain, a beloved friend of the Upstate area, and her mother, Barbara Cain, who shared her deep love for horses. Raised on a horse farm in the Blue Ridge/ Travelers Rest areas of Greenville County, Beth grew up with a profound sense of community, which has become the cornerstone of her work. After the passing of her father, Beth made the life-changing decision to step away from a 20-year career as a special education teacher to honor his legacy and make a greater impact on the lives of children in need.
Beth’s husband, Martin Jackson, has been a steadfast partner in supporting her mission, and together they have built a life centered on family, community, and service. Driven by a passion for children, teaching, and horses, Beth pursued EAGALA certification in equine-assisted psychotherapy in Virginia. It was there she met Abby Mosher, with whom she formed an immediate bond, sparking a shared vision to provide grief support for bereaved children and teens. When Beth discovered that South Carolina ranked 8th in the nation for children who will experience the death of a family member before the age of 18, and recognizing the shortage of grief support in the area, she and Abby joined forces to expand Tomorrow’s Rainbow’s services from South Florida to the Upstate area. Together, they created Tomorrow’s Rainbow Upstate dedicated to offering healing and support for grieving children and families in their community.
Beth holds a bachelor's degree in Sociology graduating with honors from Georgia State University and a Masters of Arts degree in Teaching. A proud mother of two, Beth enjoys crafting and all things horses in her free time, staying connected to her roots and passions. She carries forward her parents’ legacy of kindness, support, and community spirit through the impactful work she does with Tomorrow’s Rainbow.
